Alex is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. After taking a biology lab course, Alex found an interest in lab work and trying out new lab techniques. He enjoyed being able to apply concepts he learned in lectures. Looking at some of Dr. Iyer's past work, her lab matched Alex’s newfound interest, as it would allow him to discover components of research that a course could not teach him. Alex is currently working on understanding spatial transcriptomics data generated from brain regions in the Iyer Lab.

In his free time, Alex likes to go to the gym with friends, go on hikes, and work on cars.
